Tucked away in the Welsh hills, Aber Falls is an enchanting 120-foot waterfall that feels like it’s straight out of a fairy tale. The walk to the falls is easy and family-friendly, with lush greenery and the sound of water rushing in the distance guiding you there. Free to visit and suitable for all abilities with an accessible path but make sure to get there early at the weekend for a parking spot.

2. Culross, Scotland
Welcome to the 17th century! Culross is a picturesque village that looks like a movie set (and it’s no surprise it was used as one in Outlander). With cobbled streets, whitewashed cottages, and the magnificent Culross Palace, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time. This place is the closest thing you can get to stepping back in time.There are also 2 cafes and don’t forget to visit Culross palace and the Abbey at the top of the village. The car park is free here which is a bonus!

3. Puzzlewood, Forest of Dean
Ready to channel your inner adventurer? Puzzlewood is a magical ancient forest filled with moss-covered paths, twisted tree roots, and secret passageways. It’s no wonder it inspired Tolkien’s Middle-earth! As amazing as it is, and it really is unique don’t forget that there is an entry fee.

4. Pistyll Rhiwargor, Mid Wales
A hidden treasure near Lake Vyrnwy, this towering waterfall is a lesser-known but equally stunning spot. The gentle walk to the falls is peaceful, offering views of the surrounding mountains. This much be one of the best waterfalls the UK has to offer and for some reason not very well known. Best time is to go after some rain to get the best experience. Plus there are plenty of great pools to take a refreshing dip.

5. Polperro Tidal Pool, Cornwall
Fancy a swim with a view? Polperro’s tidal pool is a natural swimming spot tucked away from the main beaches. Surrounded by rugged cliffs, it’s a little slice of Cornish paradise. A beauty of a sea swim spot and pretty hidden. Enjoy a pint in the Blue Peter pub afterwards. Polperro is one of Cornwalls most picturesque fishing villages and can get busy. You will need to park in the huge car park right at the top of the village (which is cash only btw) and walk down through the village to the sea to find the pool.

6. Cathedral Cave, Lake District
This dramatic cave in Little Langdale is a must-see for explorers. With its high, cathedral-like ceilings and shafts of light streaming through, it’s a photographer’s dream. Then carry on a little further down the river to find the famous and picturesque skaters bridge. Parking can be tricky here but there is a small car park in the village or a few spots along the road (not many tho) In our opinion it is best enjoyed when it’s part of a larger hike.

This stunning beach is famous for its crystal-clear waters and golden sands. Nestled beneath towering cliffs, it feels like a secret paradise. Just be warned: the path down is steep and involves a fair bit of scrambling/ climbing, but worth it! Absolute paradise!! Best to park in the main beach car park at Porthcurno then walk along the coastal path to find the path that leads down to the beach. Just FYI it’s a bit of a naturists beach 😂
